SUBJECT     :                      Lending Investors

In order to afford protection to the public pending the issuance of the opinion by the Department of Justice on the issue of jurisdiction over the activities of lending investors, the Commission in its meeting on July 5, 2001 resolved that the registration of lending investors shall in the meantime be SUSPENDED unless they would want to qualify and follow the requirements in the registration of a financing company under R.A. 5980 otherwise known as the Financing Company Act, as amended and the pertinent SEC rules and regulations.

This memorandum circular shall take effect immediately.
