The Commission has received a report regarding a Facebook page named
CARI BON STORE containing an announcement/post of a purported investment
solicitation apparently advertised by Mr. RAMON S. MONZON, President and CEO of
the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).
As published in the said Facebook page, CARI BON STORE offers the public
the opportunity to earn up to 30% to 70% of capital through day trading for an initial
investment offering of PhP1,000.00. The page promotes day trading as expressed in
the said Facebook page “spending only 10-15 minutes to stock exchange with us you
can make income 5000-50000 pesos per day…”
The public is hereby informed that CARI BON STORE is not registered with
the Commission either as a corporation or partnership. Further, it is not
authorized to solicit investments from the public or to engage in the buying and
selling of securities as a salesman or broker in securities as it has not secured
the necessary license or permit from the Commission as required under Sections 28
of the Securities Regulation Code (SRC).
The public is hereby ADVISED to exercise caution in investing as such activity
is subject to the regulatory authority of this Commission. Those who act as salesmen,
brokers, dealers, agents or those who are convincing people to invest in the
investment scheme being offered by CARI BON STORE including solicitations and
recruitment through the internet may likewise be prosecuted and held criminally liable
under Section 28 of the Securities Regulation Code and penalized with a maximum
fine of Five Million pesos (P5,000,000.00) or penalty of twenty-one (21) years of
imprisonment or both pursuant to Section 73 of the SRC.
