The Securities and Exchange Commission (Commission) has received reliable information that the ALLIANCE OF NETWORKERS OF THE PHILS. ORGANIZATION, INC. (“ANPO”) has been accrediting several corporations or entities as engaged in legitimate business operations despite the existence of Advisories issued by the Commission against these said corporations or entities.
Based on the Commission’s records and its Certificate of Incorporation issued on 19 March 2015, ANPO is a non-stock non-profit organization and has for its primary purpose:
“To carry on and engage in the informal education/provision of legal assistance to the different networkers in the Philippines, to the end that their talent, efforts, innocence and being hard-working — trusting individuals, are not exploited by unscrupulous individuals, companies and/or employers engaged in pyramiding, PONZI operations, syndicated criminal activities, and transactions not authorized and/or prohibited by the Securities Act, the SEC and our laws”.
The public is hereby informed that ANPO is NOT recognized by the Commission as an accredited Self-Regulating Organization (“SRO”) and thus, the Commission is NOT bound by its issuances or accreditations issued in favor of several corporations and entities.
The public is also informed that any entity that performs the functions of any government office or agency without proper authority is punishable under Article 177 of the Revised Penal Code:
Usurpation of authority or official functions. — Any person who shall knowingly and falsely represent himself to be an officer, agent, or representative of any department or agency of the Philippine Government or of any foreign government, or who, under pretense of official position, shall perform any act pertaining to any person in authority or public officer of the Philippine Government or any foreign government, or any agency thereof, without being lawfully entitled to do so, shall suffer the penalty of prision correcional in its minimum and medium periods.
