The Securities and Exchange Commission has received reports that RECANELI PHILIPPINES INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION INC. and PHILIPPINES RECANELI MOTHER INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION THE VOICE FOR GLOBAL SOLUTIONS ON POVERTY, INC. solicit “pledges” from people at amounts ranging from PI,500 to P20,000 in exchange of a promised return in the form of checkbooks supposedly coming from the “Central Bank of the Philippines”.
From reports, the promises of the Foundation are detailed as follows:
• Thanksgiving of PI,500 — PIOM Award after the Proclamation and
Declaration of the Preamble of the 1987 Philippine Constitution;
Peso Pledges and Donations by individuals with corresponding awards, purposely used for Military mobilization and Proclamation Operational Setup:
• P 10,000 – ¯ PIOM Award x x x P50,OOO = P50M Award
P50,OOO = P50M Award x x x PIOOM = PI Billion Award;
The above Foundations are not authorized to solicit investments (in the form of pledges) from the public as it did not secure prior registration and/or license or permit to solicit investments from the Commission as required under Section 8.1 of the Securities Regulation Code.
Those participating in the unauthorized investment-taking activities of the said Foundations may be held liable for. administrative and/or criminal charges for violation of the Securities Regulation Code.
